Business Coaching

Expat Coaching

Expats must be interculturally competent to manage local teams, engage stakeholders, and achieve their objectives in the new environment. Strategies that work well in their home country may not work in their host country due to different communication styles and leadership expectations, leading to frustration and decreased productivity. I specialize in helping expats thrive in their host countries. Our programs focus on essential cross-cultural skills such as team management, effective communication, stakeholder engagement, and trust-building. I support clients in integrating into the business and social culture, understanding ways of working and leveraging cultural differences for success.

Expat Coaching
Coaching Example

Example:

I coached a Korean expat from a South Korean 'big tech' company who was sent to the UK on an expat assignment. His biggest challenge was motivating the British team and building strong relationships with team members. I helped him understand that managing and leading a British team using a hierarchical management style can be counterproductive. We worked on refining his personal communication style, mastering the art of debate, and finding effective ways to motivate teams in the UK. As a result, he became more mindful of his word choices, gave his team more space to contribute to discussions, and built a trusted relationship with them.

1 to 1 Coaching

1-to-1 Coaching

My coaching process is designed to provoke thought and inspire creativity, encouraging clients to reflect deeply, view issues from multiple perspectives, and advance towards their goals. Combining a solid business understanding with an international background and mindset, I focus on leadership, effective communication, and cross-cultural intelligence. Clients benefit from increased self-awareness, enhanced personal effectiveness and confidence.

Example:

I coached the General Counsel of a leading British multinational retail organization during her transition into a global role. Joining the company amid a major business restructuring, she faced the challenge of managing culturally diverse stakeholders. Through our coaching session, she developed greater confidence in navigating in the new industry and improving her influence and people management. We explored the cultural nuances of relationship building, and worked on a strategic approach for effectively engaging with stakeholders across different regions.
